Cann celebrates anniversary of “that mysterious pink glow”
July 19 marks the one-year anniversary of “that mysterious pink glow” that lit up the Mildura sky, prompting speculation of alien invasions, Mildura’s own Northern Lights and many other “expert explanations” across social media.
The news story captured a global audience reach in excess of 4.1 billion people and was covered by news sources all over the world - from The Guardian in the UK to The Washington Post to the India Times to the NZ Herald to the Times of Israel.
In fact the event was an unintended and unofficial announcement to the world that Cann's state-of-the-art facility was up and running. The eerie effect had been caused by the LED lights from the Cann Group’s Mildura facility, which was in its first months of commercial harvesting at the site.
A year on, and the growing team at our Mildura facility are producing some of our biggest crops as we scale to become one of the largest Australian local growers and manufacturers.
