Murray offered seat on AMCA advisory group
Late last year, Cann Group’s Cultivation Manager, Angus Murray, was offered a seat on an advisory group for the Australian Medicinal Cannabis Association, known as the Australian Cannabis Cultivators or ACC.
The AMCA’s new sub-association for cultivators held its first meeting on 24 January 2023.
The group’s intention is to support local growers through collaboration, education and advocacy and to improve product quality and cultivation production efficiencies while building a strong brand for locally grown cannabis.
Angus said the Australian cannabis production environment has historically been “fragmented”, but the formation of this advisory body will hope to bond the industry and facilitate its progression into the future.
“For me as a cannabis production grower, this provides an opportunity to inspire and develop the Australian cannabis growers’ landscape. This committee will allow Australian cannabis growers to develop world class competition for international markets,” Angus said.
“This chair seat allows Cann Group to have access and promote its leadership in cannabis cultivation from an Australian perspective. Access to new talent and technology is a big part of my motivation for participating. I believe these approaches make Cann leaders in the industry.
“We aim to inspire and learn from the industry as we move to consolidate and capture cultivation and production market share from international players. Working with Australian growers is a great way to drive this outcome for all Australian cultivation companies.”
